I am a firm believer that we are put here on earth to help one another grow and change, with the ultimate objective of living a more fulfilled life and loving each other more. The challenge lies in the peaks and valleys of life that bring severe emotional pain. I have had the privilege and honor to be professionally trained in a wide variety of therapeutic modalities to help clients move toward better mental health. I believe there is no single path to mental health but rather a combination of personal choice and a new approach to life’s challenges that creates lasting change. I hold a Master’s degree in Mental Health Counseling from the University of West Alabama and am a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist. My main focus is on the systems within your life that are not working or functioning correctly and helping to change them. I have shown success in working with patients who struggle with: - Grief/Loss - Narcissistic Abuse - Trauma/Abuse - Depression/Anxiety/Stress - Blended Family Issues - Parenting for Children with Disabilities - Marriage Counseling With over 10 years of professional experience, I am committed to supporting you through your journey toward healing and growth.

What should a new client know about working with you?

I think you will find my approach warm, lighthearted, inviting, non-threatening and filled with humor. I am knowledgeable and serious about moving you toward a more fulfilling life with the hope you gain new life skills and emotional stability. I encourage my clients to have patience with themselves and the healing process. Learned dysfunctional patterns and nonproductive behavior responses are often embedded in our families during childhood and will take time to unlearn. I am up for the challenge if you are.

More information on payments and coverage

Payment is due after each session and will be charged with your card on file for any portion of patient responsibility. Receipts will be provided at the time of the charge. This typically takes place 2-4 weeks after the session, once your insurance has had a chance to process the claim. We try our best to verify eligibility, but it is ultimately your responsibility to check coverage and out-of-pocket costs for services. For out-of-network visits, you will be billed at the provider’s self-pay rate, and we can provide an invoice for you to submit to your insurance for potential out-of-network reimbursement based on your plan’s benefits.

Ayanna is the counselor I have always wanted but never found until now. I have been through counseling on and off for years but she is something special. She is understanding and empathetic but still holds you accountable. She gives you the resources and tools needed to work through your issues.
