Psychotherapist
CA
Hi there, I'm Ayat! Ayat Madi, LCSW. Seeking mental health services is the first step toward a healthy lifestyle. Whether you're struggling to feel understood, coping with stressors, working on relationships, or need a weekly check-in, I am here to provide guidance and support. My approach I use a structured eclectic approach, individualizing methods based on each client’s needs. The most common theoretical approach I use is cognitive and behavioral. My focus I work with clients ready to make changes and focus on specific goals. I provide utmost respect and an unbiased environment to ensure a safe space. My communication style I use a calm tone to create safety. Depending on the situation, I implement grounding exercises to help clients de-escalate. My journey to mental healthcare I was drawn to psychology and therapy as my mother struggled with anxiety and depression when I was young. I witnessed her silent pain until she accepted help. Coming from a culture that viewed mental health as taboo, I decided to break the cycle and work with individuals from similar backgrounds. I take pride in guiding each individual. I have experience in community mental health and educational settings, especially within underserved and diverse populations. I earned my Master’s in Social Work from the University of Southern California. My goals for you I ask clients their therapy goals and help make them specific, measurable, achievable, relevant, and time-bound to document in their treatment plan. This helps measure progress. My first session with you In the first session, I focus on building therapeutic rapport to help clients feel comfortable opening up.
