Ayesha Kadri, LPC

Psychotherapist
TX
I specialize in helping BIPOC individuals-especially those from South Asian backgrounds-navigate the complexities of cultural identity, intergenerational trauma, and immigration stress. As a DACA recipient with a Bangladeshi cultural background, I understand how difficult it can be to feel torn between two worlds. You might be struggling to meet the expectations of your family while also trying to carve out your own path in a society that doesn't always feel welcoming. I hold a Master's in Mental Health Counseling from Southeast Missouri State University, which has equipped me with the skills to support clients through these challenges. If you're feeling overwhelmed by anxiety, depression, or the weight of family obligations, I'm here to help. Many of my clients struggle with finding a space where they can be understood without having to explain every cultural nuance-and I get it. Therapy with me doesn't require you to translate your experiences; I understand the pressures of balancing two cultures.

What should a new client know about working with you?

My approach is gentle, compassionate, and tailored to your unique journey. I’ll work with you to identify your strengths and help you build resilience, so you can find balance and peace in both your internal and external worlds. You don’t have to do this alone—I’m here to walk alongside you.

What is your typical process for working with clients?

In our initial sessions, I focus on understanding your unique experiences, challenges, and goals. Whether you’re dealing with anxiety, trauma, or navigating major life transitions, we’ll work together to create a safe and compassionate space for exploration and healing. A typical session is collaborative and client-centered. Using trauma-informed care, Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), and psychodynamic techniques, we’ll delve into patterns that may be holding you back while equipping you with practical tools to manage emotions, build resilience, and foster personal growth. My goal is to support you in uncovering your inner strength and creating meaningful change in your life. Therapy with me is not just about addressing challenges—it’s about empowering you to embrace your authentic self and move toward the future you envision.
