If you are ready to dig deep, I'm excited to support you in reaching your next level! My first career as a Philosophy professor, along with my training as a therapist, makes me somewhat of a “feelings philosophizer.” I work with individuals and couples who are looking for a safe space to explore their thoughts and feelings, while gaining real tools. My approach I use evidence-based methods such as Cognitive Behavioral Therapy and Gottman to provide an open, judgment-free space to process thoughts and emotions, while gaining the skills needed to move forward. I support couples who long for a more loving, intimate relationship but feel that their communication or areas of conflict are beyond repair. My focus I help those who are dealing with challenges such as post-partum depression/anxiety, infertility, pregnancy loss, etc. I also work with couples who want to reconnect and passionately give and receive love from one another. Additionally, I work with college students and graduate students who are moving through transitional life phases. My communication style I create a safe space to discuss any issue that has been on your mind. I offer unconditional support and thoughtful reflection during our sessions. In our work together, you can expect me to respond calmly and empathetically, no matter what you bring to the table. My journey to mental healthcare I started out my career as a philosopher because I love analyzing the world around me and going deep. As a philosophy professor, I enjoyed helping my students think through various challenges and issues using the tools of philosophy and the ideas of different philosophers. I became interested in philosophical counseling and went on to become a therapist. My goals for you We work collaboratively in developing therapeutic goals. In meeting these goals, I balance gentleness and "tough love" depending on what is needed in a given moment, therapeutic relationship, or situational context.
