Life presents all of us with stress, transitions, and challenges. Whether you're facing a crisis, dealing with a health issue, navigating loss, or simply feeling overwhelmed, therapy can provide support and clarity. With over 30 years o experience as a psychologist, I'm here to help you build resilience, find meaning, and move toward a greater sense of well-being. I specialize in health psychology, with a focus on helping people manage anxiety, depression, chronic illness, body image concerns, life transitions, and grief. My goal is to create a safe and collaborative space where you can feel truly seen and supported. I believe therapy is a collaborative process rooted in trust, honesty, and mutual respect. My approach integrates psychodynamic, cognitive-behavioral (CBT), and mind-body techniques, allowing us to tailor treatment to your unique needs. I also draw from my training in guided relaxation, behavioral medicine, EMDR, and, more recently, psychedelic-assisted therapy. Depending on your goals, our work might involve learning practical coping tools, exploring the impact of your personal history, or building insight into long-standing patterns. Ultimately, therapy with me is about growth, self-understanding, and finding new ways of engaging with life.

What should a new client know about working with you?

My work centers on helping individuals navigate a wide range of emotional and psychological challenges. I have extensive experience supporting clients who are dealing with anxiety, stress, and depression, as well as those facing the emotional impact of chronic illness and body image concerns. I also work with people going through major life transitions, such as relationship changes, career shifts, or loss. In addition, I assist clients working through grief and trauma, offering a compassionate and steady presence as they heal and rebuild. I offer a warm, grounded, and thoughtful presence. I listen closely and compassionately, and I also ask meaningful questions, offer observations, and suggest tools or "homework" to help you continue to process and integrate insights between sessions. I believe in being both supportive and direct, and I aim to create a space where you can feel safe to explore and grow. I entered the mental health field with a master's degree in art therapy. I found art to be an invaluable way to access and express my feelings. Several years later, I went on to pursue doctoral training to deepen and broaden my knowledge base and experience. I have over 30 years of experience as a psychologist, including a solo private practice for the past 20 years. I have worked in a variety of treatment settings (hospitals, mental health clinics, and a large medical group). I continued postgraduate training in specialties including EMDR. Throughout all these years, I have found working with my clients to be fulfilling, meaningful, and challenging.

What is your typical process for working with clients?

I will collaborate with you to identify, clarify, and work towards your goals. My goal is for you to feel more empowered, grounded, and connected to your inner wisdom. Whether you're wanting to feel better, understand yourself more deeply, build coping skills, heal from trauma, be able to say "no" more effectively, balance work and leisure, have stronger relationships, live a healthier lifestyle, I want therapy to help you move through life with greater self-understanding, self-compassion, confidence and vitality. In our first session, we'll take time to explore what's bringing you into therapy and what you hope to achieve. I'll ask about your current concerns, relevant personal history, and any previous experiences with therapy. This initial conversation helps us begin to identify your goals and determine how we might work together effectively. It is also a chance for you to get a sense of my style and ask any questions you may have. My priority is to create a comfortable, non-judgmental space where you can feel safe, supported, and heard from the very beginning.
