Getting to know Berenice Badillo

Hi there, I'm Berenice! Sometimes it becomes challenging managing the ebb and flow of life, and we become isolated, stressed, and overwhelmed. Our past wounds always seem to sneak up on us when we least expect them. Life transitions can be difficult in that they take much adjustment and effort. There is such a pressing need to invest in yourself and in the building of healthy relationships. You may need to spark the parts of yourself that harness your inner vitality and make life worth living. Investing in your mental health can reveal solutions as well as provide you with skills that will last a lifetime. Whatever your need, we can work together to find solutions. We can find the best approach to meet your needs, from grief work, relationship building, cognitive restructuring, and grief. I got you. My approach Through the creative use of art therapy and EMDR, we can explore solutions and implement healing strategies that can help you achieve your goals, mend relationships, and enable you to establish a deeper understanding and a loving connection to yourself and others. Art therapy is a wonderful complement to many modalities, including CBT and DBT, as it allows your brain to communicate with the right and left hemispheres and brings the subconscious to the conscious. The good news is that you don't need to be an artist! It helps push away overwhelming material and to see a thought. Trauma manifests itself as fragments, and when we explore these fragments in a different light and implement strength-based strategies, we can create a counter story. This allows us to thrive versus just survive. I offer individual, couples, family, and group therapy that is strength-based and trauma-informed. Let's get back on track to all those things that matter and the vitality that awaits inside of you. I am bilingual (English and Spanish) and bi-cultural with a belief in the practice of cultural humility. I deeply believe in our ability to heal as humans and in the power.
