Sometimes life can leave you feeling overwhelmed, stuck, disconnected, or unsure of what to do next. You may be navigating a difficult relationship, grieving a loss, adjusting to a major change, dealing with anxiety or trauma, or carrying family concerns that have become difficult to manage on your own. Therapy can provide a place to slow down, understand what you're experiencing, and begin moving forward. For nearly three decades, I have had the privilege of supporting individuals and families through some of life's most challenging moments. With 28 years of experience in the social work field, I have learned that therapy is never a one-size-fits-all experience. Every person enters therapy with a unique story, experiences, relationships, strengths, challenges, and hopes for the future. My approach is collaborative, client-centered, compassionate, and nonjudgmental. I believe you are the expert on your own life. My role is to partner with you as we explore what you're experiencing, identify patterns that may be keeping you stuck, recognize the strengths you already possess, and develop healthier ways of navigating life's challenges. Our work together may include gaining greater insight into your thoughts and emotions, strengthening coping skills, processing difficult experiences, improving relationships, navigating grief or major life changes, and identifying practical strategies that support meaningful change. I also understand that reaching out for therapy isn't always easy. You don't need to have everything figured out before your first appointment, and you don't need to know exactly what to say. We'll begin where you are and move at a pace that feels appropriate for you. Together, we'll identify goals that are meaningful to you and develop a therapeutic approach that reflects your individual needs. You don't have to navigate life's challenges alone. Taking the first step toward therapy can be the beginning of a meaningful journey toward healing and growth.

What should a new client know about working with you?

I want you to know that therapy with me is a partnership. You bring expertise about your life, experiences, relationships, and goals. I bring nearly three decades of professional experience, support, perspective, and a commitment to helping you better understand yourself and navigate the concerns that brought you to therapy. You can expect a warm, respectful, supportive, and nonjudgmental environment where you can speak openly about what's happening in your life. We won't rush your process. At the same time, our work will remain focused on helping you gain insight, recognize your strengths, develop healthier coping strategies, and make meaningful progress toward the changes you want to see.

What is your typical process for working with clients?

Our first sessions focus on understanding you as a whole person rather than simply focusing on a list of symptoms. We'll discuss what brought you to therapy, the challenges you're currently experiencing, important relationships and experiences, your strengths and resources, and what you hope to gain from our work together. From there, we'll collaboratively establish goals that are realistic, meaningful, and relevant to your life. As therapy progresses, we'll explore thoughts, emotions, experiences, relationships, and patterns that may be contributing to your concerns. We'll also identify coping strategies, strengths, and practical tools that can help you respond differently to life's challenges. We'll periodically revisit your goals and adjust our approach based on your progress and changing needs.
