Getting to know Bernadette Moore

I am a Licensed Professional Counselor with the state of Georgia. I am also a Nationally Board Certified Counselor. I have experience working with Adults, Children, and Adolescents who are experiencing or have experienced traumatic events that have caused stress in their daily lives. My approach My approach to therapy is guided by my clients. So whether you need to learn new ways to view things or strategies to cope with trauma, I am here for you. I have experience working with both Adults and Children using CBT, Trauma as well as Trust Therapy to guide them toward wellness. My focus I have experience working with Children, Adolescents, and Adults who have dealt or are dealing with trauma to, including but not limited to, Bullying, Sexual Abuse, Domestic Violence, Abandonment, Natural Disasters, Discrimination, Depression, and Anxiety. My communication style My tone is generally gentle and guided by the client. To explain my tone and the sessions will depend on what my client may be dealing with. My journey to mental healthcare My reasons for becoming a Licensed Professional Counselor were both personal and professional. Mental illness, specifically Schizophrenia, runs in my family, including my son. For many years I fought a system that was not Mental Health friendly, nor were there any Mental Health Counselors in my area who Specialized in Children and Adolescents. Equally, I watch as my family members deal with poor Mental Health care. The other reason for my interest in this field was seeing the many Mental Health offenders coming in and out of both the Juvenile Justice and the Adult Correctional setting whose lives could have been different if they received proper Mental Health care as an early intervention. These reasons became my fuel to become a part of the solution instead of focusing on the problem by becoming a Licensed Professional Counselor.
