Getting to know Beth Field

My name is Beth Field, and I am a Licensed Marriage Family Counselor in California. I hold a Master's degree in Counseling from San Diego State University and a Bachelor's degree from the University of Wisconsin. For over 20 years, I have worked with individuals, couples, and families facing a wide range of concerns. I would describe my approach as client-centered, providing an empathetic environment where clients can explore their deepest challenges in a safe space. I use a cognitive-behavioral approach because I believe our thoughts directly impact our feelings and behaviors. Through my work as a therapist, I have gained insight into how we often react to life circumstances and struggle to make the changes needed to improve our lives and relationships. I emphasize developing skills that improve communication and establish boundaries with others, including ourselves. Among the concerns I have helped clients address are anxiety, low self-esteem, depression, loss, parenting challenges, and immobilizing frustration. I look forward to connecting with you and working together on the challenges you face. My approach I use a combination of multi-systemic therapies, including client-centered, cognitive-behavioral, mindfulness, strength-based, and solution-focused methods, all within a supportive environment. My focus I have worked extensively with individuals and couples and am happy to continue doing so. I have supported clients through many emotional challenges, including anxiety, loss, depression, work-related concerns, and relationship issues. The primary goal I hope clients bring is a desire to shift their current life circumstances. Their motivation and commitment greatly influence the growth and progress we achieve together. The goals we create will be based on their specific concerns and how they wish to approach resolving or modifying them.
