Beth Maisel, LCSW

Psychotherapist
CA
I see therapy as a tool to help people navigate their lives in a way that is connected to their authentic selves. I approach our work in a culturally sensitive, trauma-informed, and collaborative manner. Some reasons clients come to therapy include trying to create new habits but falling back on old ones, feeling disconnected from their intuition after years of people-pleasing, struggling to communicate their wants or needs, or feeling torn down by their own critical thinking. Therapy can help clients process pain, identify patterns of behavior, connect with their intuitive selves, set boundaries, and create healthier relationships. Change happens when we are open to experimentation. I bring ideas to therapy, and together we may try out a new behavior, thought pattern, or boundary to see if it feels right to you. When we find something that works, we will repeat it and work to integrate it into who you are and how you approach your life. I strive to balance support with honest feedback. Although I may be direct in bringing to your attention what is no longer working for you, ultimately, what you want to address in therapy or change in your life is totally up to you. It is my aim to provide you with concrete tools and practices that can help you meet your therapy goals, whatever they may be. I hold a Master's in Social Work from California State University, Northridge, which informs my approach and commitment to providing compassionate, effective care.
