Psychotherapist
GA
Hi there, I'm Beth! My name is Beth Fannell, and I am a licensed Professional Counselor. I began counseling professionally in the early '90s, and over that time, I have gained a good deal of life sense and intuition about the human condition. I hope to use this knowledge and experience to help others who have come to a place of impasse and need a hand getting through it. My approach My approach is to meet you right where you are at the present time and to learn what techniques work best for you and what you are comfortable with. I strive to create a working plan to help you move toward your goals. I have learned that one size rarely fits all, and this is especially true in the helping profession. My focus I have worked with a myriad of clients presenting an abundance of issues. Some people experience events that throw their balance off and need help coping with the changes. Others suffer from severe mental illness and personality disorders, which have made living the life they want difficult to attain. Comfort in treating depends on whether the client and I are a good fit. That is something we can ascertain, hopefully, in our initial meeting. My communication style It is my desire that when I counsel clients, they feel understood, seen, and heard. I strive to create a safe place for them to speak freely, without fear of being judged or misunderstood. I hope to provide a warm and friendly environment where the most important person in the room is them. I try to be straightforward and genuine in my interactions. My journey to mental healthcare As a child, I noticed how different people reacted differently to various events in our lives. I thought this was remarkable! Some happy things seemed to make some cry, while others leaped for joy. Some sad events made some cry, while others seemed very busy making preparations and doing things with their hands. I wanted to know why their reactions to the same event varied so much.
