“Bethany has a very empathetic communication style that really helps create a safe-space feeling, which was really important for me because of my anxiety and difficulty getting vulnerable with most people. She provides very useful insights and comments on my issues that gave me a lot of clarity. Importantly for me, she is extremely flexible with logistics, and lets me choose how frequently or infrequently we have sessions. I really highly recommend her, especially to anyone who is new to therapy or unsure if it's right for them - you will appeciate her gentle approach.”

Getting to know Bethany Wilcox

If you recently lost a loved one through death or a traumatic breakup, you are likely in the grieving process. You may be overwhelmed by waves of emotion or feel like the rug has been pulled from beneath your feet, leaving you without solid ground. Traumatic loss abruptly changes everything. Your world will never be the same as it was, but you can find a new way forward. I specialize in helping courageous people process deep emotions and navigate grief while finding purpose in life. Healing from loss takes time and deep emotional work. Over the past 8 years as a Hospice social worker and Bereavement therapist, I’ve witnessed healing from grief complicated by conflicted relationships, medical trauma, and underlying mental health challenges. Often, we get stuck in circular thoughts that produce feelings of guilt or regret as we replay scenes wishing we could go back in time. Together, we can assess places where you may be stuck and unlock compassion and growth. I hold a Master’s in Social Work from Florida Atlantic University, which has equipped me with the knowledge and skills to provide compassionate, evidence-based support. If you are looking for a counselor who can offer support, education, resources, and unconditional positive regard, please reach out to me. You do not have to go through this alone.

What should a new client know about working with you?

Over the past 9 years as a Hospice social worker and grief counselor I've helped many clients heal. I'm passionate about supporting people who are struggling with unprocessed trauma and grief. Once the pain is felt and healing begins, anxiety often melts away.

What is your typical process for working with clients?

When you choose to work with me, I will be your companion as you walk the path to rediscovering your passion and purpose. I will not tell you the best road to take but will support you to follow your instinct and empower you to connect with your inner wisdom as a guide.
