Getting to know Betsey Goldwasser

I am a Licensed Master Social Worker, specializing in supporting children, adolescents, young adults, and families through grief, anxiety, emotional regulation, and developmental differences.

What should a new client know about working with you?

I take a warm, collaborative, and trauma-informed approach to therapy, drawing on evidence-based practices like cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT), play therapy, and mindfulness-based techniques. My goal is to create a space where children, teens, and young adults feel safe, seen, and truly supported—especially when they're facing big emotions, health challenges, or major life transitions. I earned my Master’s in Social Work from Columbia University, and over the years, I’ve had the privilege of working in a variety of settings, including schools, early intervention programs, and grief-focused camps. Each of these experiences has deepened my belief that every person deserves compassionate care tailored to their unique needs. Whether I'm helping a young child navigate anxiety or supporting a young adult through a difficult change, I strive to create a safe, affirming environment where healing and resilience can take root. I’m also passionate about mental health education, the power of art and storytelling, and building community around complex—and often stigmatized—topics like grief and loss.
