Getting to know Betsy Blum

Hi! I am a Licensed Clinical Professional Counselor based in Maryland. I provide teletherapy services to clients in North Carolina, Vermont, and Maryland. I received my master's degree in Counseling Psychology from Antioch University New England, New Hampshire, in 1992, and my bachelor's degree in Transpersonal Psychology from Burlington College, Vermont, in 1987. I use IFS, EMDR, and Somatic work to help clients find lasting and transformative changes in their lives. I also incorporate spirituality into my work. I teach mindfulness, the Law of Attraction, and creative visualization. As a CPTSD survivor, I have personally used these therapies to find lasting peace and joy. I enjoy providing compassionate, supportive therapy as well as deep insight-oriented, transformative therapy. I help clients reduce stress, heal codependency, and work through trauma, depression, and grief. I teach clients to find their inner confidence and courage, set boundaries with others, and stop "people pleasing." I encourage clients to love themselves and communicate clearly and compassionately with others. I help clients get to the root of their problems, learn to regulate their emotions, and find peace amid worry and distress. Additionally, I support clients in setting healthy boundaries in relationships and leaving abusive situations.

More information on payments and coverage

Payment is due after each session and will be charged with your card on file for any portion of patient responsibility. Receipts will be provided at the time of the charge. This typically takes place 2-4 weeks after the session, once your insurance has had a chance to process the claim. We try our best to verify eligibility, but it is ultimately your responsibility to check coverage and out-of-pocket costs for services. For out-of-network visits, you will be billed at the provider’s self-pay rate, and we can provide an invoice for you to submit to your insurance for potential out-of-network reimbursement based on your plan’s benefits.
