What should a new client know about working with you?

I’m not the kind of therapist who just nods and asks, “How does that make you feel?” I’m real, relatable, and deeply invested in your growth. You can expect a mix of compassion and challenge — I’ll meet you where you are, but I’ll also gently hold up the mirror when you need it most. If you’re nervous, that’s okay. I know how scary it can be to open up, especially if therapy wasn’t talked about in your family growing up. I speak fluent “oldest daughter,” understand cultural expectations inside and out, and offer a space where you don’t have to explain “why you stayed so long” or “why you’re so tired all the time.” I already get it. You’re safe here.

What is your typical process for working with clients?

Our work starts with understanding — not just what’s going wrong, but what you want to feel instead. In the first session or two, we’ll get clear on what’s bringing you in and what a better life would actually look like for you. From there, I create a personalized plan using evidence-based therapy (like CBT) and culturally grounded techniques to help you move through anxiety, people-pleasing, and generational patterns that no longer serve you. Each session is structured but flexible — we’ll track progress, learn practical tools, and build self-trust over time. I’ll also share reflections and insights you can take with you between sessions, because I believe healing shouldn’t be limited to 50-minute blocks. We move at your pace — with purpose, care, and a little bit of humor when you need it most.
