“I came to therapy hoping to better understand myself, and left each session with more clarity. Beverly created a space where I could laugh, be vulnerable, and be challenged. She held me accountable while making me feel supported, never telling me what to do but helping me discover my own answers. She helped me recognize patterns I'd minimized, leading to meaningful breakthroughs. I'm grateful and highly recommend her.”

Getting to know Beverly Chevalier

Hi there, I'm Beverly! Hello and welcome. I am Beverly Chevalier, a Licensed Clinical Social Worker with a Master’s in Social Work from Springfield College. As a skilled professional, I engage a holistic mind, body, spirit approach in my work with racially, economically, sexually, and culturally diverse persons. Clients gain awareness, understanding, and skills to manage and transform troubling thoughts, emotions, and behaviors resulting from adverse and/or traumatic experiences that interfere with a healthy, well-functioning life. My approach Clients are guided in transforming distress into hope using evidence-based trauma-informed psychotherapy (such as Cognitive Processing Therapy, Dialectical Behavioral Therapy, Trauma-Focused Cognitive Behavioral Therapy) integrated with life coaching, holistic approaches (mindfulness, meditation, diet), and creative expression (art, music) that inspire, affirm, motivate, and support. My focus I typically work with clients struggling with traumatic stress disorders, mood disorders, anxiety, behavioral dysregulation, and addictive behaviors. Those who benefit most are willing to prioritize themselves, not their conditions or diagnoses. My communication style Clients are partners in their healing process. The therapeutic environment is open, welcoming, and collaborative. Clients experience a variety of traditional, holistic, and creative client-centered therapeutic processes and provide feedback on which interventions help them overcome limiting, self-defeating thoughts and feelings about self-worth, relationships, and dysfunctional behavior patterns. My journey to mental healthcare When asked why I became a therapist, I say the field chose me—I did not choose it.
