Psychotherapist
FL
Hello, it's good to see you here today! Obviously, there are some things in your life causing you significant stress; otherwise, you would not be researching therapy options in Florida. I'll dispense with listing all the therapy techniques I know and cut to the chase. If I were looking for a therapist to help me unravel the complexities causing me distress, my first concern would be feeling secure with the therapist's experience and education. Yes, I have experience and have been providing therapy as an LCSW for over 20 years. Where and doing what, you may ask? Here is a brief synopsis: I earned both my Bachelor's and Master's degrees in Social Work from Florida International University. I first worked at a residential drug and alcohol treatment center, helping clients diagnosed with substance abuse, anxiety, depression, bipolar disorder, schizophrenia, legal issues, and anger management challenges. Next, I was a crisis counselor for Military One Source, providing telehealth crisis counseling for military members. After this, I worked as a telehealth counselor for the ?special needs program? of a major HMO, offering services to clients with both Medicare and Medicaid and helping them improve coping skills for issues unique to this population. Eventually, I opened my private practice, addressing workplace stress, anger management, marital and relationship issues, substance abuse, anxiety, depression, bipolar disorder, PTSD, and grief/bereavement. My therapy focus is to help you find the answers within that may have eluded you over time, often blocked by outdated defenses meant to protect sensitive feelings from the world. Walls can shield you from hurt feelings but also block good feelings like love, trust, compassion, caring, and giving. I can help you remove those walls and replace them with coping skills to manage life's challenges as they arise.

What should a new client know about working with you?

What you can expect after the first session is to develop a treatment plan to address your most significant issues and begin to develop a set of coping skills to help you actively address such issues, as well as any new issues which may evolve from exploration of the possible sources of your present distress.

In-network insurances

More information on payments and coverage

Payment is due after each session and will be charged with your card on file for any portion of patient responsibility. Receipts will be provided at the time of the charge. This typically takes place 2-4 weeks after the session, once your insurance has had a chance to process the claim. We try our best to verify eligibility, but it is ultimately your responsibility to check coverage and out-of-pocket costs for services. For out-of-network visits, you will be billed at the provider’s self-pay rate, and we can provide an invoice for you to submit to your insurance for potential out-of-network reimbursement based on your plan’s benefits.
