“Billy stood out immediately and I continue to look, quickly realize it may be the best option for me. First impressions confirmed I was right. Initially I was looking for similarities but quickly realized if I am seeking chanhe, I should welcome contrast. Mr. Bruce is very gracious and met me where I was. Trully a safe landing for me, as someone who was always apprehensive to outside help. I appreciate the opportunity to receive and I look forward to more conversations.”

Getting to know Billy Bruce

Veterans and adults facing life altering internal struggles.... you're here to find solutions. You’re here because something in your life feels heavy, confusing, or out of control and you’re ready for things to change. Whether it’s trauma, anxiety, depression, substance abuse, poor anger skills, stress, overthinking, low confidence, or a mix of all of them, you don’t have to keep carrying this burden alone. These issues are common, but they’re also beatable when you have the right support and a clear plan forward. I’ve worked with thousands of clients who felt stuck in self‑defeating beliefs, guilt, shame, or old patterns that drained the joy out of life. What I’ve learned is simple: when you reconnect with Hope, Purpose, and the strengths you’ve forgotten you have, things start to shift fast. You’re not broken; you’re overwhelmed. And overwhelmed people need support, not judgment. I’m here to listen without judgment, help you make sense of what you’re facing, and guide you toward healthier perspectives that actually work in real life. I’m faith‑friendly for clients who want it, and fully comfortable with secular therapy for those who don’t. My job is to meet you where you are, not push you into a box. I’m also a huge Ohio State Buckeyes fan. I’ll gladly work with Michigan fans too… but I can’t promise the same level of nonjudgmental neutrality I offer everyone else. :) And if you’re into grilling, I might even share a few Blackstone secrets along the way. Therapy doesn’t have to feel stiff — we can be real humans in the room together.

What should a new client know about working with you?

In our first few sessions, my main goal is to build rapport. I want to get to know you and let you get to know me. Counseling isn't some mystical science. It's a process that evolves as people learn about each other. You probably counsel others every day without realizing it. After we have worked together for a while, you will notice I love to joke and laugh. It breaks the ice and makes communication more fluid. But you'll also notice I can be very serious, especially about core beliefs and perspectives that negatively alter your life. I'll seek common areas of interest to enhance communication. And I will encourage you to realize there are two pains in life: The pain of discipline and the pain of regret. I've experienced both. The pain of discipline is always the road to take!

More information on payments and coverage

Payment is due after each session and will be charged with your card on file for any portion of patient responsibility. Receipts will be provided at the time of the charge. This typically takes place 2-4 weeks after the session, once your insurance has had a chance to process the claim. We try our best to verify eligibility, but it is ultimately your responsibility to check coverage and out-of-pocket costs for services. For out-of-network visits, you will be billed at the provider’s self-pay rate, and we can provide an invoice for you to submit to your insurance for potential out-of-network reimbursement based on your plan’s benefits.

I immediately connected with Billy and enjoyed his engaging personality. He pushed me to think and approach things differently. I have been making great strides and I am very grateful for his perspective and allowing me to open up in ways I have not for years.
