Psychotherapist

A man with two left feet, unable to move in the direction I was called to because I couldn't get out of my own way. I turned to sports until I got hurt, to academics until it wasn't enough, and to the church until I was crushed by the very place that once taught me truth. Through this journey, I learned how the mind and body work together, and I’ve been teaching it as I’ve been learning how to walk it out myself. I love how psychology and theology intersect, and witnessing the transformation of people who start believing differently, especially in themselves. I help people find their message and how to get it into them so that it starts to impact them. What do you believe, and how is it working for you? With 19 years of counseling experience in both the church and private practice, I specialize in mind-body work to help individuals heal from anxiety, anger, marriage and family issues, and wounds related to church experiences. My approach integrates emotional and physical healing, offering a holistic path toward well-being. I spent nine years serving in a mega church and the past ten years in private practice, providing guidance and support to individuals and families navigating deep personal struggles. My goal is to empower clients to find balance, build resilience, and create lasting transformation in their lives.

What should a new client know about working with you?

My therapy style is warm, collaborative, and rooted in evidence-based practices. I believe that context drives grace, and grace fosters forgiveness. Together, we explore the context of your experiences to understand how you got here, and then work to empower your body and mind to take meaningful steps forward in life. I focus on creating a safe, supportive space where we work toward goals with practical tools and guidance, always respecting your unique journey and pace.

What is your typical process for working with clients?

Intake & Assessment – In our first session, we get to know you, your concerns, and your goals. I gather relevant history and explore the context of your experiences to understand how you got here. Collaborative Goal-Setting – Together, we define what you hope to achieve through counseling. This helps guide our sessions and ensures we focus on what matters most to you. Exploration & Understanding – We examine patterns, relationships, and life circumstances. I help you gain insight into the context of your experiences, which lays the foundation for grace, forgiveness, and self-compassion. Skill-Building & Empowerment – We work on practical strategies for emotional, mental, and relational growth. The goal is to empower your body and mind to take meaningful steps forward in life. Review & Adjustment – Periodically, we review progress, refine goals, and adjust approaches as needed to ensure your growth and healing remain on track. Establish a Maintenance Plan – Together, we create a plan to maintain progress, apply learned skills, and continue growth beyond counseling.
