Perhaps you have been seeking an objective perspective. Maybe the weight of past or current stress is starting to weigh you down. Maybe you are withdrawing from others, experiencing anxiety, depression, or starting to see your relationships and work performance impacted. You may have started to even see a negative change in your behaviors. A safe space to process and explore all of these things in a judgment-free space is what you will find! My approach Regardless of your Veteran or civilian status, building on strengths and skills is essential in moving forward. You can expect an eclectic evidence-based, client-centered, strengths-based, and solution-focused approach to your therapy needs. My focus In order to help achieve therapeutic goals, the ideal client/patient/individual will need to be able to self-reflect and acknowledge that therapy is a process. Therapy takes courage, patience, persistence, and a level of vulnerability (even if it is small starting out) in order to build on skills and make the necessary changes needed to help achieve the therapeutic goals. Sometimes, just celebrating the fact that you showed up is okay, too! My communication style The most important thing in communication is being able to adapt. My communication style can be flexible depending on the needs of the individual. My journey to mental healthcare After graduating high school and leaving home at 17 years old, I ventured out into the world of further self-discovery and what I wanted my legacy to look like. I had trouble finding a job without a college degree. As I enjoyed science, I began working at a hospital at night and going to school during the day (with naps in between). I quickly fell in love with the medical field and helping people (I have always enjoyed helping others in a positive way). After marrying my husband (Army Veteran) and having our daughter (now 16 years old), I was eventually introduced to the mental health world.
