Getting to know Brenda Brooks

The journey we take in life should be lived joyfully and wholeheartedly. In the 8 years I've worked with children, teens, adults, and families, I've learned that to grow in all aspects of life, we must first heal from within. My goal is not only to join you in your journey but to help you dive into the core of your challenges so that, together, we can explore and identify effective and useful strategies to overcome them. I've worked with individuals and families who have experienced extensive trauma and trans-generational trauma passed down through generations, leading to issues such as depression, anxiety, stress, self-esteem struggles, and relationship difficulties. Battling these issues can feel lonely and exhausting, but it doesn't have to be this way. I want to support you in your healing journey. I hold a Master's degree in Counseling and a Bachelor's degree from California Lutheran University. I am also a certified Cognitive Behavioral Therapist Diplomate with the Academy of Cognitive Therapy. My approach integrates an attachment lens and a person-centered perspective. I specialize in working with children and adults who have experienced trauma, including sexual abuse, physical and emotional abuse, and domestic violence. I believe you are the expert in your life; therefore, I follow your lead in the therapeutic process while providing guidance toward self-discovery and positive change.
