Psychotherapist
OH
Hi there, I'm Brenda! Hello, my name is Brenda Canada, and I am a Licensed Professional Clinical Counselor with supervisor credentials, located in Ohio. I hold a Master's degree in Clinical Mental Health Counseling from Liberty University. I have years of experience in community and office-based counseling, as well as tele-therapy. I work with clients ranging from adolescents and teenagers to adults, addressing a variety of presenting problems such as depression and anxiety. My approach My approach to therapy leans toward solution-focused therapy because I believe that unless the stressful issues we face daily are resolved, we cannot fully focus on our mental health, as we often return to the same situations that cause these issues. I encourage my clients to find hope for the future, as without hope, we cannot continue. I use a combination of supportive, cognitive-behavioral, solution-focused, faith-based, and strengths-based approaches tailored to your needs. I believe counseling is a collaborative experience, and I will work with you to identify your personal and mental health goals while helping you utilize your strengths to live to your full potential. My focus I feel my proficiencies lie with teenagers, adults, and couples/family counseling. I have worked with clients of all ages presenting with issues such as depression, anxiety, posttraumatic stress disorder, anger, trauma, phases of life changes, relationship and family issues, and grief due to the loss of children and loved ones. My communication style Mental health issues can be very overwhelming for most people. I strive to create a warm environment where you can share your thoughts as if we were sitting together in a comfortable living room. I am a common-sense person and like to add humor to sessions. Coming from a large family (7 brothers and 1 sister) and growing up on a farm, I enjoy healthy, wholesome conversations that build a good relationship with you and foster trust.
