Getting to know Brenda Canada

Hello, I'm Brenda, a Licensed Professional Clinical Counselor with supervisor credentials, based in Ohio. With years of experience in community and office-based counseling, as well as tele-therapy, I've had the privilege of working with a diverse range of clients, from developmental pediatrics and adolescents to teenagers and adults. My expertise spans a variety of presenting issues, including depression, anxiety, posttraumatic stress disorder, anger, trauma, life transitions, relationship and family issues, and much more. I feel particularly proficient in working with teenagers, adults, and couples/family counseling. My approach to therapy leans toward solution-focused therapy. I believe that unless we resolve the stressful issues we encounter daily, we cannot fully focus on our mental health, as we keep returning to the same situations that cause these issues. I encourage my clients to find hope for the future, because without hope, we cannot move forward. Depending on your needs, I utilize a combination of supportive, cognitive-behavioral, solution-focused, faith-based, and strengths-based approaches. Counseling, to me, is a collaborative experience. I am here to help you identify your personal and mental health goals and to support you in utilizing your strengths to live to your full potential. Whether you are dealing with anxiety, bipolar disorder, borderline personality disorder, adolescent and teen mental/behavioral health, depression, family relationships, grief, life transitions, PTSD, spirituality, stress, suicidal ideation, trauma, sleep disorders, ADHD, traumatic brain injury, OCD, perinatal support, anger management, autism spectrum support, somatic symptom disorder, medical issues, or military/veteran support, I am here to help. If you feel that we might be a good fit, I invite you to reach out. Together, we can work towards a brighter and more hopeful future.
