Psychotherapist
CA
Hi, I'm Brennan Aguayo, Associate Marriage and Family Therapist. I've been an Associate Marriage and Family Therapist with three years of experience supporting individuals, families and couples through a wide range of challenges. My passion for therapy began during my undergraduate studies, where I became deeply curious about the power of personal narratives-how the stories we inherit, are told, and tell ourselves can shape the way we live, relate and heal. For the past three years, I've been grounded in Dialectical Behavioral Therapy (DBT), a modality I value deeply for its ability to help people understand their emotions, behaviors and thoughts while building practical, life-enhancing skills. I also incorporate Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) especially when exploring belief systems and how they influence how we see ourselves, others and the world. My approach is always guided by deep acceptance, and a commitment to building authentic, meaningful relationships with the people I work with. Over these years, I've had the privilege of working with diverse populations across cultures, identities, sexual orientations, spiritual and religious backgrounds, veterans, complex diagnoses, substance addiction, and life experiences. Through this work, I've come to believe that healing starts with being truly seen, validated and understood. My approach is rooted in warmth, genuine care, and deep respect for each person's unique journey. I strive to create a space where you feel safe enough to speak from the heart, genuinely cared for, and empowered to explore and grow- on your own terms. I graduated with my masters degree in Counseling Psychology from California Baptist University in 2022. I have worked at a Residential Treatment Center (RTC), a Partial Hospitalization Program (PHP) and an Intensive Outpatient Program (IOP) for the past three years.
