Getting to know Brent Chumpitazi

I'm a licensed Marriage and Family Therapist specializing in EMDR therapy. I integrate Internal Family Systems with EMDR to aid in resetting and recalibrating the nervous system through somatic healing. I earned my Master’s in Counseling from California State University, Fullerton, which laid the foundation for my trauma-focused work. My primary mission is to assist individuals in recalibrating their nervous systems. I believe everyone is inherently born with confidence and compassion—qualities that can sometimes be obscured by life's challenges. I guide people toward living authentic, self-directed lives. I tend to work with people who have experienced trauma, using EMDR therapy to support their healing. I create a calm environment where people can express themselves in any way they like, without judgment. I love to speak in metaphors that help people paint a picture in their minds, rather than relying on clinical jargon. My journey to mental healthcare began at age nine when I met my sister’s social worker. That encounter sparked my passion for helping others and set me on the path to becoming a therapist. My goals for you are person-centered. I want clients to feel empowered and to have a “say” in what they want to work on or move toward. In our first session, I’ll explain how I work with EMDR and how life events sometimes get stored in our bodies, causing negative symptoms. Together, we’ll explore ways to release those patterns and promote healing.
