Getting to know Brian Donovan

Hello, I'm Brian. Thank you for taking the time to consider me as your therapist. I applaud you for taking the first step in healing and moving forward in your life and relationships. I hold a Master’s degree in Marriage and Family Therapy from Loma Linda University, which has equipped me to support you effectively. In my therapy, I take a strength-based approach, helping you find and build on the strengths you’ve had before. I work with both couples and individuals. When working with couples, we focus on improving communication, resolving conflicts, gaining a better understanding of each other, and helping you feel more understood. When working with individuals, we work on managing negative thoughts, improving relationships, calming fears, and increasing motivation. Whether you are coming to therapy by yourself or with your partner, I want to help. I look forward to working with you.

What should a new client know about working with you?

During our first session, I will be gaining more background information about you and what you are hoping to accomplish in therapy. Subsequent sessions will include talking about your concerns, goals, and how to best move forward. There will be times when I listen and other times when I provide new insights and direction. When doing couples therapy, it is very important that I am fair. I work diligently to not side with one person or the other. Throughout the course of therapy, there will be times when each of you may speak and other times when I will ask you to talk with each other.

In-network insurances

More information on payments and coverage

Payment is due after each session and will be charged with your card on file for any portion of patient responsibility. Receipts will be provided at the time of the charge. This typically takes place 2-4 weeks after the session, once your insurance has had a chance to process the claim. We try our best to verify eligibility, but it is ultimately your responsibility to check coverage and out-of-pocket costs for services. For out-of-network visits, you will be billed at the provider’s self-pay rate, and we can provide an invoice for you to submit to your insurance for potential out-of-network reimbursement based on your plan’s benefits.
