I’m a Licensed Mental Health Counselor, Certified Addiction Professional, and Certified Clinical Trauma Professional with years of experience supporting individuals and families through life’s hardest seasons. My background includes work in law enforcement, child protective investigations, and clinical practice, which gives me a unique perspective on trauma, addiction, and resilience. I specialize in trauma-informed therapy, substance use treatment, and helping first responders and professionals manage the pressure of demanding careers. My practice integrates evidence-based approaches like DBT, EMDR, Motivational Interviewing, and Gottman Method couples therapy, always grounded in a person-centered and collaborative style. Clients often describe my approach as both compassionate and direct—I don’t sugarcoat, but I also don’t judge. I believe lasting change comes from combining insight with action, and I work with you to build tools that help you move forward, not just understand the past.

What should a new client know about working with you?

Therapy with me is a mix of real conversation, evidence-based techniques, and a focus on what’s actually working in your life. I’m warm and approachable, but I’ll also challenge you when it’s needed. I believe therapy isn’t about labeling what’s “wrong” with you—it’s about uncovering your strengths, addressing what’s holding you back, and creating a life that feels more manageable and meaningful. I bring both professional expertise and lived experience in recovery, which helps me connect with clients who feel stuck, ashamed, or misunderstood. If you’re struggling with trauma, anxiety, depression, or addiction, you don’t have to go through it alone. We’ll set goals together and work toward them at a pace that feels right for you.

What is your typical process for working with clients?

Our first session focuses on getting to know your story, your goals, and what brought you to therapy at this point in your life. From there, I’ll share my impressions, offer a treatment plan, and together we’ll decide what direction feels best for you. In ongoing sessions, I combine talk therapy with skills practice, reflection, and problem-solving. You can expect sessions to be active—sometimes that means exploring patterns and emotions, other times it means practicing communication strategies or grounding tools right in the room. For trauma and addiction work, I may also incorporate structured approaches like EMDR or relapse-prevention planning when appropriate. Above all, sessions are collaborative—you’re not just sitting and talking at me. Therapy is about building momentum, and I want you to leave each session with something you can take into your life immediately.
