Welcome! Taking the step to begin therapy is a brave and positive choice, and I'm here to support you every step of the way. I specialize in individual, couples, and marriage therapy. My client-centered approach combines cognitive-behavioral and solution-focused therapy to help you navigate life's challenges and foster deeper connections. If you're ready to embark on a journey of personal growth, exploring your thoughts and creating healthy relationships in a safe space, let's chat and explore how I can support you. I believe therapy is unique to every person and, therefore, the client should have an active role in their therapy by deciding the duration of their therapy and what they would like to focus on. I also utilize CBT to identify what thoughts might be hindering your ability to progress and use solution-focused therapy to help facilitate change. My ideal clients are individuals who are struggling with everyday life stressors, anxiety, depression, postpartum depression, and life transitions. Additionally, couples, whether married or not, living together or not, who are struggling with communication. We will focus on how our thoughts can be a big contributor to how we perceive situations and how a change in perspective can help you reach peace of mind.

What should a new client know about working with you?

I am a big advocate for open communication between both the therapist and client to create an environment that is safe, inviting, but most importantly, non-judgmental. This will give the client the opportunity to speak freely and for me, as the therapist, to actively listen and reflect back to the client my understanding of what the client is trying to convey. The client can expect me to have my listening ears when trying to communicate their needs, goals, progress, and struggles. My journey to therapy began with the curiosity of why people behave the way that they do and how I can be of assistance to those individuals through their everyday life struggles, anxiety, depression, life transitions, and relationships. My first introduction to therapy was as a counselor at a substance use clinic, which really drew me in. Then in my master's program, I was able to intern at an Intensive outpatient program where I facilitated a group for children from the ages of 7 to 17 and worked on the private practice side, providing therapy for individuals, couples, and families. Working with people to better their situation or their state of mind is a passion of mine, and I look forward to facilitating it for more individuals.

What is your typical process for working with clients?

I believe therapy is a partnership. Using open-ended questions and motivational interviewing, we identify what your goals for treatment are and create a road map of how we will reach those goals together. As time progresses and as you grow as an individual, we will revisit your goals and adjust as we go. During the first session, we will have an opportunity to get to know each other to see if we would be a good fit for each other. This will also give me an opportunity to better understand what you would like to get out of therapy and how I can be of service to you. Therapy can feel overwhelming at first, but I am here to help you and guide you through the process.
