You love and hate to hear people tell you that you are amazing at getting so many things done! You have always been busy and able to multitask with ease. Lately, though, it feels nearly impossible to get things done, and the list just keeps growing and multiplying. Everything overwhelms you more and more each day. It seems like 24 hours in a day is simply not enough. Saying no to someone doesn't feel like an option because it feels like you're disappointing them-and yourself. You are exhausted and annoyed. If you're losing hope that you can win over chaos, counseling can help. I have a passion for working with people who feel overwhelmed by anxiety and/or ADHD. I provide a space to explore each person's unique experience, strengths, and struggles so they can overcome challenges and start celebrating their successes. I earned my Master's in Social Work from the University of Texas, Arlington, and my Bachelor's degree from the University of North Texas, Denton. My training and experience equip me to support you in finding balance and reclaiming your sense of control.

What should a new client know about working with you?

Within the first session, my clients tell me that they feel like they have hope. They feel like they can finally take a deep breath. When we meet, you will learn and explore the skills to manage your life. You will learn about developing strategies to manage emotions and stress as well as how to set realistic expectations and boundaries. If you want to stop feeling like chaos is in the driver’s seat, I can help. I want to help you feel confident with a well ordered life that invigorates you. I want to help you to achieve your goals and feel excited about your accomplishments. We will collaborate to set goals and action steps to help you find your superpowers again.

What is your typical process for working with clients?

In my practice, I work to individualize sessions to each client. Most of my clients have found support with their anxiety and ADHD through their work with me in just a few sessions. With life being so busy, my clients appreciate the opportunity to meet virtually. It provides an ease to remaining focused on themselves while juggling the curveballs that life is full of.

We are firm believers that clients can progress further, faster when they are matched with the right therapist. For example, the right therapist will connect with the client and know how to structure sessions and guide a client to their desired result. We're often asked why we no longer accept insurance. While most understand that parts of our healthcare system are broken, not everyone understands just how complicated using their health insurance for mental health services can be. This is the reason only 20-30% of therapists are willing to even accept insurance anymore. We are part of the 70-80% that don’t want insurance companies telling therapists what therapy should look like. We don’t think it makes sense for an insurance representative who is not in the therapy room, not aware of your personal situation and doesn’t have professional mental health training to be making therapy decisions. In short, we no longer accept insurance because we got sick of playing the insurance game. While there are a few good insurance companies out there, we’ve found that most are more difficult to deal with than they are worth. Instead of wasting our energy fighting with them, we devote all our attention to helping our clients get the results they want in the most timely manner. We are more than happy to assist you in trying to take advantage of your out of network benefits. While we do not participate or directly communicate with insurance panels, we can provide you with a superbill (receipt of your payment for the treatment you received) to submit to your insurance company for reimbursement. Out of network benefits vary from insurance plans.
