Getting to know Brittany Brookshire

Are you feeling paralyzed by anxiety or uncertainty? Stuck in your daily life or going through a major life transition? Do you want to get to know yourself better or learn more effective tools for managing your emotions? If this sounds familiar, I might be the counselor for you. Many of my clients experience symptoms of anxiety, depression, PTSD, and adult ADHD, or are navigating grief, stress, or unexpected challenges life has thrown their way. I love helping people “lift the fog” after difficult life experiences, new diagnoses, or mental health struggles. I believe I excel at making clients feel comfortable and supported throughout the counseling process. I have a knack for connecting with people and helping them shift their perspective in ways that improve their overall outlook on life. With a thorough understanding of the deep roots that shape our inner narratives and impact our daily lives, my strengths lie in guiding people through life's difficult mazes. I earned my Master's in Professional School Counseling from the University of Georgia and hold a Bachelor's degree from Georgia State University. Have questions about counseling or want to know more about me? Let's chat and see if we're the right fit. I know how much courage it takes to make a change, and if you're here, you've already taken an important step: acknowledging that you're searching for something. Let's create change together.

What should a new client know about working with you?

Clients leaving a first session with me will walk away with an understanding of what to expect in counseling, an idea of the type of counselor that I am, and the beginnings of a plan for what you want and need out of counseling. Clients who commit to the counseling process can experience increased confidence, improved mental health, better coping skills, more positive self-perception and self-talk, and more clarity.

More information on payments and coverage

Payment is due after each session and will be charged with your card on file for any portion of patient responsibility. Receipts will be provided at the time of the charge. This typically takes place 2-4 weeks after the session, once your insurance has had a chance to process the claim. We try our best to verify eligibility, but it is ultimately your responsibility to check coverage and out-of-pocket costs for services. For out-of-network visits, you will be billed at the provider’s self-pay rate, and we can provide an invoice for you to submit to your insurance for potential out-of-network reimbursement based on your plan’s benefits.

I've had several therapists over the years, and never had an understanding of my mental health the way I do now.
Shes very easy to talk to and can build a trusting relationship with her and feel more comfortable.

I've been working with Brittany for a few months now, and I leave every session feeling like I have a new tool in my toolbox for tackling different challenges, struggles, and mental health issues. I was so nervous to try therapy, but from the very first session, she has been so warm and inviting and she creates such a safe space to talk through things. I'm so thankful to have her knowledge and kindness as a resource!
Brittany has been my counselor for several years now. She has never faltered in her advice for me, she listens to me and hears me. Remembers specific of conversations from "our" past talks and sees my growth and knows the things I'm still struggling with. My appointments went from "in person" to telehealth over the years and I feel that I am getting the same one on one help, advise and support from her. I'm grateful for her on my journey.
I am LOVING my sessions with Brittany. She's exactly what I need. She's helping me manage some unexpected, challenging and frustrating issues right now. I'm excited to get back on track with my initial goals after I can move past this derailed train situation. Brittany has helped me keep my sanity through it all.
