Getting to know Brittany Gardner

Reaching out for help can be difficult, and the thought of seeing a therapist can seem intimidating. I believe that with the right therapist, you can express yourself freely without fear of judgment and receive the support you need and desire. No two people’s journeys and life experiences are the same, so I take an individualized approach with my clients. I love helping clients feel their feelings, address their anxiety and fear of failure, and feel empowered to grow and change habits. I specialize in aiding clients with managing relationship challenges, developing better routines, and implementing boundaries. I strive to provide a welcoming environment that supports your unique development of self-awareness, vulnerability, and growth. Together, we will identify your goals for treatment and work toward them in a collaborative process. I value feedback to ensure your goals and voice are at the heart of our work. Building trust between us is important so you feel comfortable providing that feedback. I utilize values, humor, and compassion to build an authentic therapeutic relationship that fosters meaningful change. In sessions, I often bring us back to the present moment to build awareness, identify old patterns of behavior, and create new habits. I hold a Master’s in Social Work from Loyola University Chicago, which has equipped me with the knowledge and skills to support clients effectively on their journey toward healing and growth.

What should a new client know about working with you?

The first few sessions, I will lead. I want to get to know not only what's bringing you in, but your family, routines, passions, strengths and more. We'll create goals together and map out how we're going to work on them. After the first few, we'll start the collaborative process. I like to keep my sessions flexible and always make space for what you need that day. If I am noticing patterns, I will bring something in to address them. My goal with each session is to make you feel heard and validated along with providing you tools and knowledge.

More information on payments and coverage

Payment is due after each session and will be charged with your card on file for any portion of patient responsibility. Receipts will be provided at the time of the charge. This typically takes place 2-4 weeks after the session, once your insurance has had a chance to process the claim. We try our best to verify eligibility, but it is ultimately your responsibility to check coverage and out-of-pocket costs for services. For out-of-network visits, you will be billed at the provider’s self-pay rate, and we can provide an invoice for you to submit to your insurance for potential out-of-network reimbursement based on your plan’s benefits.

She's been the only therapist I've been able to connect with. Also the first time I'm truly being honest. She let's me feel heard and is very good with tools or methods she has to share.
