Brittany Smiley, LMHC

Brittany Smiley, LMHC

Psychotherapist
FL
Early on, I experienced an unwavering passion to help others. This deep-seated desire led me to pursue a Bachelor’s in Psychology and a Master’s in Mental Health Counseling from Springfield College. My aspirations didn't stop there. Upon venturing into the social service field, I gained a strong interest in working with deviant youth, which motivated me to complete a Bachelor’s degree in Criminal Justice, along with a Master’s in Social Science with a concentration in Criminal Justice. After attaining four college degrees, I became a Licensed Mental Health Counselor in the state of Florida. For over 8 years, I have dedicated myself to serving the community and gaining invaluable experience along the way. I have acquired educational, professional, and personal experiences that help guide others on their healing journey—overcoming trauma, cultivating emotional stability, and addressing psychological distress. My utmost focus is to extend a helping hand to those grappling with anxiety, family conflicts, depression, and ADHD. By combining a down-to-earth demeanor and professional expertise with a genuine yet compassionate nature, my aim is to create a safe, nurturing, and supportive environment where you can explore your inner strengths, discover resilience, and embrace personal growth.

What should a new client know about working with you?

In my practice, clients can expect a non-judgmental and secure environment where they are free to delve into their thoughts, feelings, and behaviors that have led them to seek therapy. While embarking on a collaborative journey the goal is to establish a tailored treatment plan that addresses your unique needs. Beyond the therapy sessions, I equip clients with practical tools to navigate their lives with greater ease. Having an understanding that personal growth and healing take time, I am dedicated to being there for my clients so that they feel heard, supported, and empowered. I prioritize creating a genuine connection and building therapeutic rapport based on trust and respect. Flexibility is another cornerstone of my practice; recognizing that each individual is unique and requires a personalized approach. I apply a variety of methods to suit the specific goals and preferences of my clients, ensuring that they feel relevant, meaningful, and applicable in their daily lives. As a therapist, placing great importance on active listening is an area of strength. This is done by being fully present in our sessions, and attentively listening to my client's concerns, experiences, and aspirations. Fostering an atmosphere of openness, validation, and encouragement, and providing the tools necessary for positive change is always the goal.

More information on payments and coverage

Payment is due after each session and will be charged with your card on file for any portion of patient responsibility. Receipts will be provided at the time of the charge. This typically takes place 2-4 weeks after the session, once your insurance has had a chance to process the claim. We try our best to verify eligibility, but it is ultimately your responsibility to check coverage and out-of-pocket costs for services. For out-of-network visits, you will be billed at the provider’s self-pay rate, and we can provide an invoice for you to submit to your insurance for potential out-of-network reimbursement based on your plan’s benefits.
