Candace Sims, LMFT

Psychotherapist
CA
I am a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist (LMFT) based in Inglewood, California, and I work with clients via telehealth. I hold a Master's in Counseling from the University of Phoenix. I work with a diverse group, from adolescents to young adults, addressing daily stressors, anxiety, depression, relationships, and adjusting to transitions. I use Cognitive Behavioral Therapy and Solution-Focused Brief Therapy (SFBT) to help clients navigate day-to-day challenges while building on their strengths. My approach I adjust my therapy approach to fit each person's needs. I primarily use Cognitive Behavioral Therapy and Solution-Focused Brief Therapy. These methods help both me and my clients understand their thoughts and experiences. Together, we find ways to move forward and make positive changes. My focus I have found that my style is a good fit for young adults and adults who may be dealing with life stressors at school, home, or work. These often show up as anxiety, depression, stress, and anger. I work to help my clients find realistic solutions that change the narrative of how they see their lives while feeling supported and empowered to make positive changes. My communication style My communication style is authentic, direct, and empathic. I want my clients to feel comfortable talking to me about anything without judgment. I understand that providing a safe space where a person feels supported and empowered is vital to the therapeutic relationship. My journey to mental healthcare I became a therapist because I have experienced how secrets within family structures can cause more harm than good. I have always been the person others confide in because I listen, care, and never judge. I believe everyone should have the opportunity to be the best version of themselves. My goals for you I use a collaborative approach to goal setting with clients. Goals should be client-driven, realistic, and meaningful to best support each person's needs.
