My name is Candice Campbell. I've been licensed for 15 years and enjoy working with the whole person. We can't control the world, but we can help each other deal with it a little better. My focus areas of practice are strength-based, skill-based, cognitive, and psychodynamic. My approach I am credentialed in trauma-focused cognitive behavioral therapy along with anger replacement therapy. I support an array of skill development and enjoy discovering a person's existing strengths and finding ways to enhance their functioning. My focus I've worked with at-risk teens and families within both the probation and child welfare processes. I'm comfortable working with people who aren't sure where to start but are willing and ready for the journey. My communication style I have a relaxed tone and a casual approach. We all go through ups and downs in life, and it can be helpful to get support and perspective from someone outside your environment. I share what I see, may challenge some ideas or beliefs that appear to cause distress in your life, and keep in mind all the parts of you and how they may be affected by your past, your environment, and any personal beliefs about yourself. My journey to therapy I was working as a teacher in a local alternative high school and realized I was spending more time working with my students and their families on emotional and behavioral challenges. I returned to college, earned my master's degree in social work from California State University, Long Beach, and immediately started working in the mental health field with children and families. Helping people feel better drives me to stay in this field 20 years later. My goals for you I approach goal setting with my clients in ways that are measurable to see the progress they are making in therapy. My first session with you I have a casual approach and focus on getting to know you as a whole person.
