Getting to know Carina Bondoc

Hello! My name is Carina Leilani Bondoc and I am a Native Hawaiian and Mexican-American Licensed Clinical Social Worker, based out of San Diego, California. My pronouns are she/her/hers. I work with adolescent and adult clients statewide, via telehealth. I am a strong advocate for folks, especially BIPOC and LGTBQIA+ people, to break through cultural stigmas surrounding mental health and use therapy as a tool to be a better version of themselves. My approach My primary approaches include Person-Centered Therapy and Cognitive Behavioral Therapy. I tailor my sessions to best serve my client’s needs, goals and comfortability. Together we will create an individualized plan to best suit your needs. My focus I have been fortunate to serve clients from varying diversities and backgrounds. While I specialize in working with veterans, individuals struggling with substance abuse disorders, LGTBQIA+ folks, anxiety and depression, I am comfortable helping people experiencing various life transitions. My communication style I want to hear your story. You are the best narrator of your life and my goal is to help you tap into your strengths, identify areas to work on, and create a space to build a foundation to achieve the peace and life you deserve. My journey to mental healthcare I come from a diverse cultural background and I am also a Navy veteran. In my life and work experiences, I have encountered situations where I felt more could be done to help others through different hardships and challenges. This compelled me to not only take back control of areas in my own life, but it encouraged me to obtain the education and training to assist others. Each of us has our own path; your journey is not the same as mine nor is it about me, but I want to listen and help you get to your destination.
