Getting to know Carissa Hotelling

*A minimum of 48 hours' notice is required for cancellation of appointments, or a cancellation fee will be charged. Often, life's struggles leave us feeling overwhelmed and hopeless, making us feel out of control of our wellbeing. It is my greatest passion to aid my clients in instilling that hope through empowerment, education, and guidance. I believe that everyone has the ability to find inner peace and strength to overcome these obstacles. I have a client-centered approach and will work with you to drive your own destiny through a collaborative process. I believe that with the proper support, you can grow, learn, and recover. This can be accomplished through exploration, problem-solving, identifying achievable goals, and making a plan of action to reach those goals. I am excited to walk this journey with you to gain control over your life. About me: In addition to my passion for counseling, I enjoy enhancing my skills by being a lifelong learner-reading, attending, and participating in workshops and seminars. I am a cultural lover who enjoys art and museums. I wholeheartedly believe in self-care and personal development, spending much of my leisure time practicing yoga, meditation, taking long walks, cuddling with my dogs, and spending time with my teenage daughters and friends. I earned my master's degree in social work from the University of Texas at Arlington. As a social worker, I have spent the last eight years working in home, medical, clinic, and mental health settings, where I have provided case management, service coordination, and supportive counseling to diverse populations-from adolescents to elderly clients experiencing physical and mental health issues. I specialize in anxiety, depression, behavioral issues, dementia and Alzheimer's, grief and loss, and pain management.

She wasn’t qualified to treat my set of issues. She is going to refer me to someone else. The issues were in the paperwork but she went through the entire session before telling me she would not treat me.

I have been dealing with a lot of personal matters that have affected my mental health and wanted to get back in therapy. After trying a great match, i am so blessed, grateful and appreciative that I found her. Just after the first session, I learned to look at my life problems from a different perspective and cope with my anxiety, and now I feel much better. I enjoyed communicating with my counselor. Everything was smooth and professional. I would recommend this individual therapy service to everyone and if your covered under your insurance of you able to pay out of pocket SHE IS THE TRULY remarkable and cant wait to see how this process and progress unfold.
