Getting to know Carley Waddell

*I do not take insurance* Hi, I'm Carley! I work with 18-40 year old adults and couples to help them heal and implement lasting change in their lives. I hold a Master’s in Clinical Mental Health Counseling from Denver Seminary. I believe that therapy is a space for all people to feel safe, process life events, and heal. I offer therapy that is empathetic, strengths-based, compassionate, and focused on your needs and desires. Through my work with emerging adults, adults, and couples, I have seen many people learn to truly love themselves for who they are and live a life they are proud of. I will help you love the person you are now and thrive as the person you are becoming. Together, we will explore the narratives that have shaped who you are and create a new narrative that reflects your current reality, who you are now, and the person you want to be. I have helped people feel confident in their own skin, stand up for their needs, better understand their trauma, and finally believe they have value and purpose in the world. Whether you are struggling with low mood episodes, overthinking, loneliness, relational distress, body image, or general stress from life—I am here to offer hope, empathy, and evidence-based interventions personalized to your specific goals and needs.

What should a new client know about working with you?

It is my intention to help you feel seen and heard so that you may heal, grow and implement lasting change in your life. I offer therapy that is empathetic, authentic, genuine, compassionate and focuses on your needs and desires. Through your work with me you will be given a safe space to bring all of your thoughts, fears, trauma, frustrations and joys. Whether you are struggling with low mood episodes, overthinking, loneliness, relational distress, body image or general stress from life - I am here to hold hope for you when you are not able to, respond empathically because I truly care for your healing and use evidence based interventions that are personalized to your specific goals and needs so that lasting change can happen.

What is your typical process for working with clients?

Once you've booked an appointment with me through ZocDoc,you can expect to receive an email, phone call, or text message from me between 1-12 hours after booking. In some cases I will be reaching out to verify additional information, others will be to acknowledge that we're set up for our appointment! I'll then send over the paperwork that will need to be signed prior to our appointment. Our first session will be an intake session where I learn about you and we talk through the support that you're needing, and identify some goals. The length of time people are in therapy for varies! It is definitely hard work, but my hope is that you'll settle into the process and experience healing, and develop new tools and ways of thinking about things. We'll work together to determine when you're ready to pause or end therapy based on what you're experiencing in your life outside of therapy. **Please know that when you book a therapy session I am committed to showing up and being present during that time. When I accept your appointment through Zoc Doc, I expect that you will also show up and be present. I require 48 hours notice if you need to cancel or reschedule and you will be charged my full fee if the cancelation is not made in that time frame

Carley is amazing. She made me feel very comfortable and gently helped me discover some profound realizations during my first ever appointment.

I’ve never done any form of therapy, I can say from a household that told us getting help from a professional was a waste of money. This was a the best experience I could have had.

I was instantly comfortable with Carly. She was willing to listen and very compassionate. I look forward to mettin with her again soo.

Carly was very welcoming and professional. It was the best intake I have ever had in the fact that she really directed the conversation without steamrolling. She used a lot of helpful language and immediately gave me tools to use in everyday life. Really recommend her for eating disorder issues, chronic pain, and trauma.

Carley was punctual, attentive, and seemed to genuinely care about everything I shared with her. I have worked with a few therapists in the past but working with Carley felt different. The conversation did not seem one-sided, nor did it feel like she was listing off some strategies for me to try at home. It felt like a friend listening to me vent, validating my feelings, but also gently pushing me to process and think further on certain things. I was worried at first that her being young (I’d guess in her mid-20s but not really sure) would be uncomfortable for me (I’m in my early 30s) but she was extremely professional. I am looking forward to continuing my working relationship with her and would recommend her to anyone looking for a caring and compassionate provider!

Carley is professional and attentive. She took time to explain her methods and approach, as well as stayed cued in to my emotions and asked questions when she felt I was feeling something during our session.
