Carlie Moss, LMHC

Psychotherapist
NY
I believe therapy should be a collaborative, nonjudgmental space where you can show up exactly as you are — without minimizing your pain or feeling like you have to compare your struggles to anyone else’s. My clinical background includes work with adolescents and adults navigating trauma, substance use, life transitions, relationship stress, and mood disorders. I have experience in mobile crisis and community-based settings, which has strengthened my ability to remain calm, grounded, and supportive during life’s most overwhelming moments. I understand that healing doesn’t happen in a straight line, and I meet clients wherever they are in the process. I draw from a variety of therapeutic approaches including person-centered therapy, cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT), emotionally focused therapy (EFT), and trauma-informed practices. My style is warm, direct, and compassionate. I will gently challenge unhelpful patterns while honoring the protective strategies that helped you survive. Many of my clients struggle with abandonment wounds, self-criticism, and feeling “selfish” for having needs. Together, we work to build emotional safety, increase self-trust, and develop healthier ways of coping and connecting. Reaching out for therapy can feel vulnerable — especially if you’ve been let down before. My goal is to create a space where consistency, trust, and authenticity are at the center of our work. You don’t have to carry everything alone.
