Hi there, I'm Carlie! Welcome to You 101! As much as therapy is about processing emotions, it is also a time for you to gain a deeper understanding of yourself. You will find that life is much easier to navigate when you know how to build a life that works for you. Ready? Let's get it! My approach I use cognitive-behavioral (CBT) and mindfulness to address old thinking patterns that may be getting in your way. I find that when mental health care is a part of a holistic approach, long-term success is more achievable. We will work together to create goals, incorporate support, and leave you feeling empowered to manage your life. My focus If you are an adult who has ADHD or suspicions of it, you are in the right place. I have helped many adults who are either late diagnosed or have been untreated/undertreated for ADHD find their place. Clients who benefit the most are motivated and tired of doing things the same way with no results. Clients who are ready to try something new do their best to incorporate self-care, make space for reflection, utilize or create support around them, and allow me to bring expertise, compassion, and accountability to their lives. Trauma and ADHD have a unique relationship, and if you are dealing with both, the road can be very hard without the right kind of support. I utilize trauma-focused CBT, EMDR, and mindfulness practices to create the best path forward. You don't have to have both for us to work together; I got you either way. My communication style Trauma and ADHD can be very serious topics, and I've learned that creating an environment of compassion, humor, and accountability goes a long way. This environment aides in one of the biggest hurdles in treatment, which is acceptance. As my client, you will often be reminded that "there's nothing wrong with you" and that "everything you feel is okay." Did I mention that I was funny...
