Psychotherapist

Counseling is a passion for me. I support each client in discovering their inner resources and strengths while gaining personal empowerment. My passion is working with survivors of trauma to break cycles of transgenerational trauma and create new paths, traditions, and coping strategies for healthy well-being. I utilize various treatment modalities, including psychodynamic therapy, cognitive behavioral therapy, and solution-focused therapy. I am also trained in Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR) and Mindfulness. My approach is strength-based, using relational therapy techniques interwoven with narrative therapy. I enjoy utilizing a nontraditional approach to therapy and hope to de-stigmatize mental health in communities of color. As a survivor of trauma myself, I aim to help make meaning of individuals’ life experiences and assist them in moving from surviving to thriving. I believe my life experiences provide resonance, a helpful tool in offering empathy, important to the healing journey. I am trauma-informed, using whole-body therapy to build relationships with individuals who want to trust themselves and others. My approach incorporates the belief that curiosity guides your discovery of self. I ask questions that help clients understand how they are in the world, and from that perspective, they can decide what changes to make. I use embodiment to connect clients to their body, mind, and spirit, respecting their inner wisdom, past, and present. I utilize emotional education that demystifies feelings, emotions, and behavior so clients can make adaptive choices and build strategies that connect them to their values and help nurture the relationships they deserve. As a therapist in the community for over two decades, I have worked with a range of people across the spectrum, helping them achieve their goals. I hold a Master’s in Social Work and a Bachelor’s degree from California State University, Long Beach.

More information on payments and coverage

Payment is due after each session and will be charged with your card on file for any portion of patient responsibility. Receipts will be provided at the time of the charge. This typically takes place 2-4 weeks after the session, once your insurance has had a chance to process the claim. We try our best to verify eligibility, but it is ultimately your responsibility to check coverage and out-of-pocket costs for services. For out-of-network visits, you will be billed at the provider’s self-pay rate, and we can provide an invoice for you to submit to your insurance for potential out-of-network reimbursement based on your plan’s benefits.
