Carman Clark, LPC

Psychotherapist
GA
Hi there, I'm Dr. Carman S. Clark, LPC, EdD in Counseling Psychology from Argosy University, Sarasota. My approach is interpersonal, compassionate, and healing. I focus on issues of sexual abuse trauma, anxiety, major depression, grief, and medical concerns. Everyone has a story to tell, and I am here to listen and help you heal. My approach integrates cognitive-behavioral, mindfulness, strengths-based, and trauma-focused awareness and healing techniques. I most often use rational-emotive therapy and compassionate intervention as my theoretical foundations. I primarily work with adult individuals dealing with childhood trauma, job-related stress, grief, anxiety, depression, medical issues, or those seeking life coaching and positive transformation. I am comfortable and experienced in treating all of these concerns. As an active listener, I hear both what is said and what is left unsaid. I assure all my clients that I do not judge, criticize, or label them. I create a compassionate environment where clients can be their authentic selves. Many clients tell me that I help them feel hopeful that healing is possible and that they find peace in our work together. I learned early in life that humans don’t come with instructions; we often adopt paradigms and interpersonal beliefs that are not always psychologically healthy or helpful. What drives me in this work is my fascination with the resilience of the human spirit and its desire to evolve into the best version of itself. My goal is to help clients understand that goals are milestones on the path to becoming their best selves, but these goals must be realistic and reasonably achievable. When you come to see me, you can expect a warm welcome, an invitation to learn about my practice techniques, and an opportunity to share what brings you to therapy.
