Getting to know Carolyn Fisher

Parenting can be tough. You wonder if your child will ever grow out of their excessive worries, meltdowns, or tantrums, and you become exhausted and feel guilty for being frustrated with them. The nightly battles with homework and reports from school wear you down. The power struggle with your spirited toddler or strong-willed adolescent may leave you overwhelmed and wondering what you can do differently. Communicating and feeling unified with your partner or caregiver may be difficult, or your styles may differ, creating uncertainty or chaos in the home. It is okay to feel overwhelmed. It is also okay to strive for more. You know the potential your child has, and living in a world where you can better help them navigate their development is possible. My goal is to empower you and your child by finding effective parenting strategies and coping skills that work for your family, allowing your child to thrive. I hold a Master's in Counseling from Antioch University, Los Angeles, and I work with children, families, parents, and caregivers to ease the tension that emotions, outbursts, tantrums, and anxiety can bring. Parents are welcome for support as well as individual therapy to improve their emotional responses when triggered by parenting challenges. Children ages 2 to 7 are welcome for Parent Child Interaction Therapy (PCIT). Please call, text, or email me so we can begin working toward a more peaceful, intentional parenting experience. I welcome all families from all walks of life-let's talk.

What should a new client know about working with you?

In sessions, clients will learn clear strategies in order to reach specific goals in therapy while children and parents will gain the confidence and self-regulation tools that are needed to get through the day successfully.

In-network insurances

More information on payments and coverage

Payment is due after each session and will be charged with your card on file for any portion of patient responsibility. Receipts will be provided at the time of the charge. This typically takes place 2-4 weeks after the session, once your insurance has had a chance to process the claim. We try our best to verify eligibility, but it is ultimately your responsibility to check coverage and out-of-pocket costs for services. For out-of-network visits, you will be billed at the provider’s self-pay rate, and we can provide an invoice for you to submit to your insurance for potential out-of-network reimbursement based on your plan’s benefits.
