Getting to know Carolyn Josephine Sidhu

I was born and raised in North Carolina and have lived in California for over 20 years. I am a single mother of two daughters and have first-hand experience navigating through divorce and parenthood. My passions include being a mother, spending time with family and friends, playing beach volleyball, and traveling to new places. I consider myself a kind person who is honest, open-minded, empathetic, and always ready for an adventure. I earned my Master's in Counseling Psychology from National University and have been a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist (LMFT) for over 12 years. I began my career as a Recreation Therapist working in a psychiatric inpatient unit for adults with mental health issues. I continue to hold my certification in recreation therapy and incorporate many of these skills with my clients. Currently, I work part-time at an intensive outpatient unit serving adults with various psychiatric conditions, including depression, anxiety, bipolar disorder, psychosis, personality disorders, and substance use. I have experience working with individuals, couples, and families in private practice and am happy to be practicing privately again. I believe in a collaborative approach that focuses on clients' strengths and goals.
