"Hello, I'm Carolyn. I utilize Cognitive Behavioral Therapy and Brief Solution-focused techniques as the driving force in my practice. I believe we all have barriers that we can overcome; it’s just a matter of how we elect to be the change. By incorporating coping skills and self-care as a priority in the healing and learning process, we are working to shift gears in the right direction.
I have been a therapist and social worker for over 20 years, and I am always learning and growing. My background is deeply rooted in the military community, being the child and spouse of retired military members and the sibling of several active military members across different branches. My childhood afforded me the opportunity to live all over the United States and abroad, giving me a rich, multicultural perspective.
I was also fortunate to be raised by loving parents who adopted six children of different races. These siblings have grown up to thrive and persevere despite adversity, overcoming mental illness, abuse, neglect, and labels. They continue to be my inspiration. As a mother of a child with Autism, I face daily challenges and learning experiences that shape me. I would like to show you how your journey can shape you from a positive perspective.
