Carrie Hammond, LMFT

Psychotherapist
CA
Hi there, I'm Carrie! My name is Carrie Hammond, and I am a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist (LMFT) and Board-Certified Behavior Analyst (BCBA). I earned my Master’s in Marriage and Family Therapy from Phillips Graduate University and my Bachelor’s degree from California State University, Northridge. I specialize in working with people with autism and their families. Over the last 17 years, I have also worked with individuals experiencing depression, anxiety, and life stressors. When I work with clients, I see myself as a guide—here to help them unlock their authentic selves and true potential for life and its challenges. I strive to be a mirror for my clients so they can understand their behaviors and patterns, helping them realize who they are and who they want to become. I also believe it’s important at times to look at the past to know how to proceed in the present and future. After all, we are a reflection of where we came from. I look forward to supporting you on your journey. My approach I typically use Solution-Focused, CBT, and Eclectic methods, tailoring short- or long-term therapy to each client’s needs. My focus I have worked extensively with Autism, ADHD, Depression, Anxiety, Divorce, Self-Esteem, Lesbian Issues, Child Rearing, and Behavioral Issues. My communication style In sessions, I tend to be collaborative and direct when needed. I am a great listener with a moderate tone, calm and considerate in my communication. My journey to mental healthcare When I was younger, people often told me I was a good listener. That stuck with me throughout my formative years. As I grew older, I knew I wanted to help people with their problems and understand why they do what they do. That led me to becoming an LMFT. I stay in this field because people fascinate me, I want to help others understand themselves, and I still want to know why people behave the way they do.
