Getting to know Cary Sanders

"Hello, I'm Cary. It is with much admiration and respect that I engage with clients in their journey to wellness. As a therapist, I have always believed in the strength of the individual to heal. Trauma impacts us all in different ways, but it doesn't need to define who we are. I understand how difficult it can be to seek help when things seem overwhelming, which is why I strive to create a warm, compassionate, and safe environment where you can feel accepted wherever you might be in your journey of self-discovery and growth. I have been a Licensed Clinical Professional Counselor since 1998, and I primarily help adults experiencing trauma, anxiety, and depression. My approach often incorporates cognitive-behavioral and trauma-focused therapy to help you reach your potential. I firmly believe that when people are supported and encouraged, they can find their strength and balance, grow, change, and learn to believe in their own abilities to reach their goals. Before moving into private practice, much of my career was dedicated to working with teens in the foster care system and families whose lives have been touched by adoption. This experience has allowed me to support individuals struggling with trauma (including sexual trauma), self-worth and identity questions, grief, relationship issues, and general adjustment to life’s difficulties. I am also LGBTQIA+ friendly and committed to providing support to individuals from all walks of life. I graduated from Kent State University with a Master's Degree in Counseling, and my professional journey has been deeply enriched by the diverse experiences and stories of my clients. Whether you're dealing with anxiety, family relationships, gender identity, grief, life transitions, perinatal support, PTSD, stress, suicidal ideation, self-harming behaviors, or intimate/romantic relationships, I am here to help.
