I utilize a client-centered approach and maintain a safe, non-judgmental space for healing. I use evidence-based interventions, such as Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Dialectical Therapy, and Motivational Interviewing to assist clients in developing deeper levels of self-compassion as well as creating and/or maintaining appropriate boundaries. I enjoy working with clients from a strength-based perspective, utilizing positive traits and identifying ways to build upon these qualities in order to cultivate resilience. I earned a Master's in Social Work and Urban Studies from Michigan State University in 1999 and a Doctorate in Guidance and Counseling at the University of Education - Winneba in 2017. I have been practicing social work in various therapeutic settings for over 25 years.
