Psychotherapist
GA
Hello, my name is Catherine Roberts. I became a therapist because I enjoy getting to know people on a natural level. My goal is to help guide people through personal challenges to achieve healthier minds. It is possible to learn how to escape from feeling overwhelmed. As a collaborative partner, I would like to help empower you to face life's challenges and achieve healthier mental well-being. I graduated from Clark Atlanta University, where I obtained my Master's Degree in Counseling Psychology. Now, as a licensed professional counselor, I have worked in private practice for more than fifteen years. I primarily work with clients experiencing depression, grief and loss, anxiety, bipolar disorder, trauma, and addiction. Before working in private practice, I was a clinical therapist in an inpatient mental health facility. I work with children, adolescents, and adults, using Cognitive and Dialectical therapies to help my clients learn better ways to cope with life stressors. When you change the way you think about issues, you are empowered to work toward changing life outcomes. I believe in being a collaborative partner while developing a trusting relationship with my clients. I will work to help you gain the proper tools to escape feeling overwhelmed and learn how to manage life's many challenges.

What should a new client know about working with you?

I will review any information shared with me about the client's concerns or stressors before the session. In the session, I will gather and assess the information shared by you in session to diagnose and to determine what you would like to get out of therapy to ultimately set therapy goals. I will end each session by asking you to allow me to work with you to help decrease their concerns and enhance their personal growth. Also, I will go over the informed consent paperwork to ensure it is understood and signed by each client. Lastly, I like to reflect on and summarize the session with the client, schedule the next appointment, and assign a homework assignment.

More information on payments and coverage

Payment is due after each session and will be charged with your card on file for any portion of patient responsibility. Receipts will be provided at the time of the charge. This typically takes place 2-4 weeks after the session, once your insurance has had a chance to process the claim. We try our best to verify eligibility, but it is ultimately your responsibility to check coverage and out-of-pocket costs for services. For out-of-network visits, you will be billed at the provider’s self-pay rate, and we can provide an invoice for you to submit to your insurance for potential out-of-network reimbursement based on your plan’s benefits.
