Getting to know Catherine Stieg

Hi! I’m Catherine, a licensed clinical social worker practicing in Maryland and Virginia. I work with individuals and to navigate change, life transitions, anxiety, and relationship issues. In our work together we’ll explore the “what now?” and “what next?” in order to move forward on a meaningful and authentic life path. As a therapist, my focus is on helping you develop new strategies and perspectives to experience life with less suffering. Together, we’ll address current symptoms while also exploring the root causes for discontent. I approach each client with warmth and genuine curiosity about their history, experiences, strengths, and challenges. My focus centers on assisting clients in taking steps forward on a meaningful and authentic life path specifically for Gen-Xers, Millennials, and Gen-Zs. Together, we'll explore new strategies and perspectives to experience life with less suffering. We'll work to address current symptoms while also exploring the root causes for discontent. I am also a yoga teacher and incorporate somatic and mindfulness philosophy into my practice. I hold a Master of Social Work from Aurora University in Aurora, Illinois and a Bachelor of Arts in English from North Central College in Naperville, Illinois. After a successful career is public relations and marketing, I returned to school to pursue my Master of Social work with advanced training in psychodynamic therapy, grief counseling, anxiety and related disorders, and emotionally focused interventions.

More information on payments and coverage

Payment is due after each session and will be charged with your card on file for any portion of patient responsibility. Receipts will be provided at the time of the charge. This typically takes place 2-4 weeks after the session, once your insurance has had a chance to process the claim. We try our best to verify eligibility, but it is ultimately your responsibility to check coverage and out-of-pocket costs for services. For out-of-network visits, you will be billed at the provider’s self-pay rate, and we can provide an invoice for you to submit to your insurance for potential out-of-network reimbursement based on your plan’s benefits.
