Hello, my name is Celisa. I am a Licensed Independent Social Worker (LISW-S) based in the great state of Ohio (Go Bucks!!). With approximately nine years of experience as a practicing therapist, I am passionate about helping individuals navigate their mental health journeys. I graduated with my Master's in Social Work from The Ohio State University, focusing on co-occurring disorders. My primary work is with adolescents, and I specialize in anxiety disorders, depressive disorders, trauma, self-esteem, psychosis, and supporting kids on the Autism spectrum.
My therapeutic philosophy is centered around an eclectic approach, tailored to meet each client's unique needs. I have training in Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Cognitive Behavioral Therapy for Psychosis (CBT-P), Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), talk therapy, and motivational interviewing. This diverse toolkit allows me to adapt our sessions to what works best for you, ensuring a personalized and effective therapeutic experience.
Outside of my professional life, I am an avid animal lover. I share my home with five dogs and nine cats, and I also foster animals in need of healing before they find their forever homes. Music is another passion of mine; it serves as an escape and a means to support my own mental health. I also enjoy movies, especially horror films, and I am a huge fan of the Harry Potter series, both the books and the movies.
